Constructed over approximately seven years beginning in late 2009 on gifted land in Chatribari, a prominent trade hub, Shree Shyam Mandir was formally inaugurated on 14 April 2016 following a seven-day consecration ceremony. The temple was built under the leadership of Acharya Mahant Shri Pandit Gopal Sharma with substantial community support from local Shyam bhakts, representing a collaborative devotional effort that cost approximately Rs 4 crore. The three-storeyed complex houses the presiding deity Shri Khatushyamji alongside sub-temples dedicated to Ganesh, Bajrang Bali, Shiva Parivar, Lakshmi Mata, Rani Sati Dadiji, and Santoshi Maa. The temple experiences heightened attendance during Ekadashi observances and the Shukla Paksha Ekadashis of Kartik, Phalgun, and Margshirsh months according to the Hindu lunar calendar, drawing worshippers from neighbouring areas who participate in Kalash yatra and Nishan Yatra processions.
