About Charbhuja Nath Temple

Located in Garhbor village within Kumbhalgarh Tehsil of Rajsamand district, Charbhujanath Temple stands as one of Rajasthan's oldest and most significant Vishnu temples, with a history spanning approximately one thousand years. The presiding deity, Sri Charbhujanath, represents the four-armed form of Lord Vishnu holding the conch, discus, mace, and lotus, symbolizing divine protection, righteousness, and compassion. According to temple tradition, the sacred idol was worshipped by the Pandavas before their final journey to the Himalayas, and was later recovered from water by King Shri Gang Dev following a divine vision. The temple showcases magnificent Rajasthani architecture featuring a tall shikhar with an octagonal dome-like structure, intricate mirror work, and doors crafted from pure gold and silver. Situated on the banks of the Gomati River, the temple attracts thousands of devotees annually, particularly during Bhadrapada Ekadashi when grand fairs and Rath Yatra celebrations occur, alongside observances of Holi, Janmashtami, and Navaratri.
