About the temple

The Wangath Temple Complex is a group of ruined Hindu temples in Ganderbal district, Kashmir, built by Lalitaditya Muktapida in the 8th century and dedicated to Lord Shiva in his form as Shiva Bhutesha. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
