About the temple

The Pandrethan Shiva Temple is an exceptionally well-preserved example of ancient Kashmiri Hindu architecture, situated within a water tank fed by natural springs near Srinagar's historic Jhelum River. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
