About Veeramakaliamman Temple, Arantangi

Located in the heart of Arantangi town, this temple adheres to the Karana Agama tradition and maintains a rigorous daily worship schedule with four ritual services performed throughout the day. The presiding deity, Veeramakaliamman, is venerated as a north-facing form of Goddess Kali. The temple complex features a sacred tank spanning eight acres that facilitates ritual purification for devotees. A daily annadana program provides food offerings to approximately one hundred worshippers at noon, sustained through community contributions at a cost of ₹3,500 per day. The temple is particularly renowned for its spiritual significance in addressing concerns related to marriage blessings and childlessness relief. The annual festival is celebrated throughout the Adi month with chariot processions and boat festivals, while a nine-day Navaratri festival is also observed with great devotion.
