According to local tradition, the deity appeared to a devotee named Mohandas Maharaj in 1811 in bearded form, and was subsequently installed at Salasar following divine instruction. The temple is known locally as Salasar Dham and is considered a place of power where devotees' wishes are believed to be fulfilled. A notable practice involves offering coconuts and churma (millet crumbs) to the deity. The temple features traditional architecture with intricate carvings and maintains a devotional atmosphere throughout the year, drawing pilgrims who participate in sacred aarti ceremonies and tie coconuts while making prayers.
