Located in Piranmalai village within Sivagangai District, Tamil Nadu, this Paadal Petra Sthalam temple enshrines Kodunkundranathar at the base level, Viswanathar in the middle section, and Mangai Bhagar (Umamaheshwara) at the hilltop summit in wedding form alongside Goddess Thenambikai. The hilltop sanctum features intricate sculptures depicting the divine wedding of Shiva and Parvati witnessed by celestial beings. A distinctive feature is the herbal idol of Mangai Bhagar, crafted from nine sacred herbal substances (Navapashanam) rather than stone. The temple uniquely lacks a Nandi, flagstaff, and altar, as Shiva hastened to manifest before Sage Agasthya in wedding form and left Nandi at Kailash. The sacred tamarind tree exhibits unusual characteristics, blossoming and yielding unripe fruit that falls without ripening. The temple receives continuous sunlight from October to April, a rare astronomical phenomenon.
