Located in Iraniyur, Sivaganga District, Irani Kovil stands as an architectural marvel constructed by the Nattukkotati Nagarathar community. The temple's primary deity, Lord Aatkonda Nathar, is revered as a swayambumurthy (self-manifested form). The shrine complex houses multiple sanctums including Goddess Sivapuranthevi facing south, Lord Dakshinamurthi in a goshta mandap supported by four lions, and shrines dedicated to Navagrahas, Kubera, Vayu Bhagwan, Gajalakshmi, and Lord Bhairava. The temple is particularly notable for its architectural design that allows simultaneous darshan of both the deity and vimana from the front mandap. According to local tradition, the temple's name derives from Lord Vishnu's worship here after defeating the demon Iraniyan. The site is considered auspicious for celebrating 60th and 80th birthdays due to the presence of Kalasamharamoorthy.
