About Mahalakshmi Temple, Dahanu

Situated on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Highway in Dahanu taluka, this historic temple was founded in 1306 during the establishment of Jawhar State by Koli king Jayaba Mukne. The temple remains a significant spiritual center where devotees seek blessings for prosperity, wealth, and well-being. Known for its spiritual atmosphere and traditional rituals, the shrine is particularly vibrant during Navratri celebrations, which attract large gatherings of pilgrims. The temple maintains a connection to the Mukne Dynasty of Jawhar, with the present Raja's flag ceremonially offered during worship. Located near the Arabian Sea in the coastal town of Dahanu, the temple is managed by the Devasthan Management Committee and continues to serve as an important pilgrimage destination in Maharashtra.
