About Chandragutti Renukamba Temple

The Chandragutti Renukamba Temple stands as a revered pilgrimage destination in Soraba taluk, Shivamogga district, housing the idol of Goddess Renukamba, mother of the legendary Parashurama. The sanctum is carved from natural stone within a cave-like rock formation set upon a hillside, surrounded by dense Malnad forests. The temple complex comprises multiple shrines including the primary Renukamba temple alongside shrines dedicated to Parashurama, Matangi, and Shulabeerappaswamy. Recognized as a Grade A mujrai temple under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, the shrine falls within the jurisdiction of the Archaeological Survey of India. Daily worship follows traditional Shodasha Upachara rituals, providing devotees regular darshan opportunities.
