About Trivikrama Temple

The Trivikrama Temple, also known as the Ter Temple, stands in Ter, Maharashtra as a shrine to Vamana, the fifth avatar of Vishnu. The temple's architectural and historical origins have been subject to academic discussion since the early twentieth century. Henry Cousens and subsequent scholars proposed that the structure was originally constructed as a Buddhist temple before being repurposed as a Hindu shrine. However, this interpretation was challenged in 1957 by M. S. Mate, who presented alternative evidence regarding the temple's original religious affiliation and construction purpose.
