About Mama Bhanja Temple, Barsoor

The Mama Bhanja Temple stands as a significant example of Naga dynasty architecture, built upon a moulded base with a protective curvilinear shikara rising above it. The fifty-foot structure showcases remarkable artistic merit through beautiful carvings of foliage, lotuses, and other decorative elements adorning its walls and ceilings. The temple's lintel features an exquisite image of Lord Ganesha. Though the mandapa has weathered the passage of time, the shrine remains well-preserved and continues to draw devotees throughout the year for darshan and aarti, with evening rituals and festival pujas creating particularly vibrant spiritual atmospheres.
