About Lalita Gauri Mandir

Constructed between 1800 and 1804 by Rana Bahadur Shah, the King of Nepal, Lalita Gauri Mandir stands as one of Varanasi's significant religious sites. The temple is located at Lalita Ghat, which was subsequently named after this sacred shrine. According to Hindu tradition, bathing at Lalita Teerth and worshipping Lalita Gauri grants blessings of prosperity. The temple houses multiple deities including Lalita Gauri, Kashi Devi, and Bhagirath Devi. Lalita Gauri is venerated as one of the nine Gauris during Navratri celebrations in March-April, with special pujas performed during Ashwin month (September-October) on the second day after the full moon.
