About Gopinath Temple, Pabna

Located in the Jor-Bangla Para neighborhood of Pabna city in the Rajshahi Division, this temple exemplifies the Jor-Bangla architectural style with its distinctive Chala design. Constructed between 1856 and 1857 by Brajmohan Krori, a tahsildar of the Murshidabad Nawab, the structure measures approximately 7.92 meters in length, 7.81 meters in width, and reaches a maximum height of 7.01 meters. The temple's design reflects the sophisticated Bengal temple architecture tradition, featuring intricate terracotta work that showcases the artistic craftsmanship of the period. Though the deity Krishna was once venerated as Gopinath within these walls, the temple has ceased active religious functions in modern times.
