About the temple

The Dodda Ganapathi Temple in Bangalore houses one of India's largest monolithic idols of Lord Ganesha, standing 18 feet high and 16 feet wide, believed to have been commissioned by Kempegowda I, the founder of Bangalore. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
