About Kumara Swamy Devasthana, Bangalore

Located on Mount Joy hill in the Hanumanthanagar area of Bangalore's south zone, Kumara Swamy Devasthana is a temple dedicated to Lord Kartikeya, also known as Murugan. The temple features a notable Pancha-Mukhi Ganesha shrine at its base and draws devotees throughout the day for darshan and aarti. The atmosphere intensifies during evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed. The temple was established in 1901 when Chief Justice T. Narahari Rao constructed the front mandapa and gopuram. In 1924, a Pancha-Mukhi Ganesha idol was installed, and subsequent additions were made in 1954 with a nine-metal deity installation.
