Ragigudda Temple
About Ragigudda Temple
Located on a hillock in Jayanagar 9th Block, this temple venerates Lord Hanuman as its primary deity while also enshrining a Shivalinga, Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, and Lakshmana within the main precinct. The temple grounds feature a smaller shrine dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the Navagrahas, and Goddess Rajarajeshwari at the base of the hillock, along with a Trimurti Sannidhi housing engravings of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva on massive rocks. According to local legend, the hillock itself originated from ragi (finger millet) offered by a devout woman named Sudharma to three disguised deities, with the name Ragigudda deriving from 'ragi' (millet) and 'gudda' (hillock). The temple was formally established in 1969 through local youth initiative and officially registered in 1972.
