About Vazhappully temple
Located at Kazhimbram near Valapad in Thrissur District, this family temple traces its origins back over 500 years. Originally dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali, the temple underwent a significant transformation in May 1947 when a Panchaloha idol of Goddess Rajarajeshwari was ceremonially installed by Sri Narasimha Swamikal, the first disciple of Sri Narayana Guru. The installation was marked by a remarkable event: a large Mimusops Elengi tree at the temple's south side split and fell, which devotees interpreted as a manifestation of the goddess's power. Though the primary deity is now Rajarajeshwari, the temple retains the base mantra of Bhadrakali. The goddess is venerated as embodying the combined powers of Mahalakshmi, Saraswati, Parvathi, and Bhadrakali, and is considered the protector of the region. The temple is one of Kerala's few family temples that performs Gandharva puja, addressing specific spiritual concerns. Devotees of all backgrounds are welcomed to seek blessings for prosperity, wealth, and fulfillment of wishes.
