About Vamaneeswarar temple

Vamaneeswarar Temple stands on the banks of the Kedilam river along the Chennai-Villupuram highway in Thirumanikuzhi. Shiva is worshipped here as Vamaneeswarar and represented through the lingam, while his consort Parvati is depicted as Manonmani Amman. The temple holds significant religious importance as the presiding deity is mentioned in the Tevaram, a 7th-century Tamil Saiva canonical text composed by the nayanmars, Tamil saint poets. This recognition classifies it as a Paadal Petra Sthalam, a temple sanctified through devotional poetry.
