About the temple

Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world, located at 3,600 meters in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district. According to Hindu mythology, it was built by the Pandavas and marks one of the five sacred Panch Kedar temples where Lord Shiva's arms are believed to have emerged. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
