Located in Thiruvettisvaranpettai within the Triplicane district of Chennai, this temple enshrines Lord Shiva in the form of Thiruvettisvarar, represented by a lingam in the sanctum. The presiding goddess is Maragathavalli, also known as Senbagambikai. The temple features the deity flanked by Somaskanda imagery and houses multiple subsidiary shrines dedicated to Vinayaka, Virabhadra, Balasubramania, and the Saivite saints Gnaanasambandar, Appar, Sundarar, and Manikkavacakar. The front mandapa of the Subramania shrine displays inscriptions of sacred compositions including the Kandar Anuboothy and Kanda Shasti Kavasam, alongside stucco sculptures depicting the Six Abodes of Murugan. The temple celebrates major festivals including Brahmotsavam, Vaikasi Visakam, Purattasi Amavasaya, and Masi Maham.
