About the temple

The Sewdass Sadhu Shiva Mandir, known as Temple in the Sea, is a striking octagonal Hindu temple built over the waters of the Gulf of Paria, constructed through the extraordinary perseverance of an indentured laborer from India. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
