Visiting the Temple

The temple is located at Malaikoil, Tiruttani, in Tiruvallur District, approximately 87 kilometres from Chennai and notably within the Greater Chennai Metropolitan Area. The climb of 365 steps should be considered when planning a visit; early morning hours offer both cooler conditions and a more peaceful atmosphere for darshan.

Aadi Kirthika festival is noted as an especially significant time to visit. Devotees typically dress modestly when entering Hindu temples; remove footwear before entering the inner sanctum. The temple is maintained by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Practical Information

The temple's postal address is Arulmigu Subramanyaswamy Temple, Malaikoil, Tiruttani – 631209, Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu. Online darshan ticket booking is available through the temple's e-services portal. Those wishing to perform special sevas should inquire about availability and book in advance, particularly during festival periods when demand is higher.

Visitors should allow adequate time for the climb and the darshan experience. The hilltop location provides views of the surrounding landscape, particularly at sunrise and sunset, making the ascent itself part of the devotional experience for many pilgrims.
