Vaseeswarar Temple
About Vaseeswarar Temple
Situated on the southern banks of Poondi reservoir along the Thiruvallur-Thiruthani road, approximately five kilometers from town, Vaseeswarar Temple enshrines Shiva in the form of a lingam, worshipped as Vaseeswarar. His consort Parvati is venerated as Pasupathinayagi. The temple's spiritual importance is underscored by its inclusion in the Tevaram, a 7th-century devotional work composed by the nayanmars, Tamil saint poets whose verses identified it as one of the sixty-three sacred Shaiva pilgrimage sites.
