About Sri Vadapathira Kaliamman Temple

Sri Vadapathira Kaliamman Temple traces its origins to 1830 when a female devotee placed a picture of Amman beneath a banyan tree, though the temple was officially established in 1935 by Mr. Rengasamy Mooriyar. Over the decades, the temple expanded to encompass additional deities and underwent significant renovations, with major consecration ceremonies marking its spiritual evolution in 1975, 1984, 2005, and 2016. The temple features a prominent shrine dedicated to Vadapathira Kaliamman, a fierce manifestation of the goddess Kali, and also houses a popular Shirdi Sai Baba shrine. Located at 555 Serangoon Road, it remains an important religious and cultural center for Singapore's Hindu community, drawing devotees throughout the day for darshan and aarti, with evening rituals and festival celebrations creating particularly vibrant spiritual atmospheres.
