Located in Pazhavangadi, North Fort, Thiruvananthapuram, Sreekanteswaram Mahadeva Temple is a revered Hindu sanctuary dedicated to Lord Shiva, worshipped here as the benevolent Srikanteswaran. According to temple lore, an elderly sweeper from the original Pazhaya Srikanteswaram temple discovered a self-manifested Shiva Linga at this location following a divine vision. The main deity faces eastward, and while Goddess Parvati has no separate idol, she is believed to eternally reside within the sanctum. The temple complex also houses shrines dedicated to Maha Ganapathy, Lord Murugan, Hanuman, Krishna, Ayyappan, and Nagaraja. Maintaining traditional Kerala architectural style, the temple operates under the stewardship of the Travancore Devaswom Board, preserving its spiritual and cultural heritage for devotees and pilgrims.
