About the temple

Sorimuthu Ayyanar Temple, located in the dense forests between Papanasam and Karaiyar Dam, is one of South India's six important Sastha temples and the first Ayyappan shrine where pilgrims begin their Sabarimala journey. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
