About Shri Viswa Vinayaka Mandir Rhenock

This modern Hindu temple complex, completed on 3 October 2016, was inaugurated by Shri Dinesh Chandra of Vishva Hindu Parishad alongside former Chief Minister Pawan Chamling. Built on a 2.56-acre plot in Rundung Village, the four-storied structure rises 108 feet and represents a significant religious landmark in Sikkim's Pakyong district. The temple's most distinctive feature is its collection of 51 forms of Lord Ganesha, marking the first such installation in the Northeast region. The main sanctum houses a 12-foot tall statue of Lord Ganesha with 16 hands. Beyond the primary deity, the complex includes a Shivling, a Hanuman statue, and impressive mythological sculptures depicting the Samudra Manthan (churning of the cosmic ocean). Construction materials were sourced from Thailand while skilled artisans from Nepal and West Bengal executed the intricate work. The temple replaced an earlier Radha Krishna Mandir that previously occupied part of the site.
