About Santala devi temple

Located in Punkal Gaon near Jaitunwala in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Santala Devi Temple sits on the right bank of the Nun Nadi river and is accessible via approximately 700 stairs or a 2-kilometre trek from Punjabiwala village. The temple holds significant cultural and religious importance for local devotees, who believe the goddess bestows blessings of good health, wealth, and prosperity. The shrine features an idol adorned with traditional clothes and jewellery, worshipped with considerable devotion. Saturdays are particularly significant, marking the day of the goddess's transformation into stone according to local tradition. The temple attracts numerous pilgrims throughout the year, though the best visiting season is October to March when weather conditions are favourable for the challenging climb.
