Sanatan Dharm Mandir

The temple's organization spans two levels. On the first floor, visitors encounter shrines dedicated to the Sapta Rishi (the seven sages), Kartikeya (also known as Murugan or Skanda), and representations of Radha-Krishna and Lakshmi-Narayan. The ground floor houses Mata Vaishno Devi, Hanuman, Saraswati, Ganesha, and Shiva with associated shrines. Additional installations include Mata Sheetla, the Navagraha (nine planetary deities), and Sai Maharaj. Sacred trees—a peepal and a banana tree—are also maintained within the temple grounds.

This multi-deity arrangement allows devotees to offer worship according to their personal inclinations and the specific blessings they seek, whether for knowledge, protection, prosperity, or spiritual guidance.

Daily Worship and Rituals

The temple maintains consistent daily schedules across seasons. Morning worship begins at 5:00 AM in summer and 6:00 AM in winter, with the morning aarti (ritual of light) performed at these times. The temple remains open until noon, then reopens in the evening from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Evening aartis occur at 6:00 PM during winter and 7:00 PM during summer months.

Kirtan (devotional singing) takes place daily from 8:00 to 8:30 AM, followed by pravachan (spiritual discourse) from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. Tuesday evenings hold particular significance, with extended kirtan dedicated to Hanuman running from 9:00 PM to 12:30 AM. This regular schedule of communal worship and teaching reflects the temple's role as an active center for spiritual practice rather than a monument to visit once.

Festivals and Annual Observances

The temple observes major festivals across the Hindu calendar, including Vasant Panchami, Makar Sankranti, Shivaratri, Janmashtami, Ram Navami, Holi, Hanuman Jayanti, Navratri, Diwali, Govardhan Puja, Ganeshotsav, and Sharad Purnima. The temple's foundation day (14 December) marks its principal annual celebration. Additionally, bhandara (community feast) is organized on the last Sunday of each month, providing an opportunity for collective worship and shared meals.

Visitor Information and Facilities

Entry to the temple is free. The premises offer basic amenities including prasad (blessed food offering), drinking water, a shoe storage facility, CCTV security, seating areas, and an air-conditioned satsang hall for gatherings. An office is staffed on-site for inquiries. Photography is permitted, though the temple requests that visitors refrain from photographing during active worship out of respect for those engaged in prayer.

The nearest metro station is Jor Bagh; exit gate number 1 provides the most direct route to the temple. Visitors should dress modestly, removing shoes before entering the inner sanctum, as is customary in Hindu temples.

Beyond worship, the temple operates several community-oriented services. These include a marriage bureau, a dispensary and pathology laboratory, a temple hall available for events, yoga and music instruction programs, a library, and an ambulance service. A langar (community kitchen) provides meals, reflecting the temple's engagement with broader social welfare alongside its spiritual functions.
