About Samayapuram Pojeeswarar Temple
Located in Samayapuram village near Tiruchirappalli, this Shiva temple operates under the administration of the nearby Samayapuram Mariamman Temple. The shrine is characterized by its simple architectural design, lacking a rajagopura at the entrance. The temple complex includes various sacred elements: a balipeetam and Nandi statue positioned near the entrance, with the main deity facing eastward while the goddess Anandavalli faces south. The sanctum houses additional shrines dedicated to Bhairava, Surya, Vinayaka, Dakshinamurti, and Lingodbhava. Secondary shrines for Vinayaka and Muruga with his consorts are situated in the southwestern and western sections respectively. The temple features two vimanas and maintains Agni Tirttam as its sacred tank, with the vilva tree serving as the temple tree.
