The temple's sanctum sanctorum remains uniquely open to the sky, with the deity installed beneath an Asoka tree that devotees claim has maintained its exact size for generations. The temple is governed by trustees from the Mannattil and Naduvath families, who oversaw its construction according to the goddess's wishes. Major festivals include Chanthatam (Patham Padhiyam), celebrated in late December following forty-one days of lamp lighting from the Malayalam month of Vrischikam, and Navaratri observances featuring daily lamp rituals.
