This venerable shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva stands on the banks of the Yamuna River near Nigambodh Ghat and Salimgarh Fort in Old Delhi. According to local tradition, the temple was founded by Dharmaraj Yudhishthira, the eldest Pandava brother, during the Ashwamedh Yagna in the Mahabharata period. The temple derives its name from its distinctive blue-tiled canopy structure that overlooks the river. Devotees visit throughout the day for darshan and participate in daily aarti rituals, with the evening ceremonies drawing particularly large gatherings. The temple observes major festivals including Shivaratri, Sawan Somwar, Janmashtami, Navratri, Makar Sankranti, and Vasant Panchami. Basic facilities include prasad distribution, drinking water, shoe storage, and seating arrangements.
