About the temple

Nartiang Durga Temple is one of India's 51 Shakti Peethas, located in Meghalaya's Jaintia Hills, where the goddess is worshipped as Jayanti. This six-hundred-year-old shrine represents a unique fusion of Hindu and indigenous Khasi-Jaintia traditions. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
