Jhandewalan Mandir was discovered by textile merchant Bhagat Badri Dass during the 18th century while exploring the Delhi Ridge of the Aravalli range. According to historical records, Badri Dass found the idol of Jhandewali Mata and a stone Shivlinga with a snake carving near a waterfall, prompting him to establish the temple at that sacred location. The temple is now managed by the Badri Bhagat Jhandewalan Temple Society Trust. It serves as a prominent spiritual center for devotees of Maa Durga and Vaishno Devi, drawing particularly large crowds during Navratri celebrations. The temple features both main darshan areas and a cave temple (gufa), offering multiple daily aartis and maintaining an active online presence with live streaming of ceremonies.
