About the temple

Maa Dewri Temple is a 700-year-old shrine in Diuri village near Ranchi, Jharkhand, housing a rare 16-armed murti of Solah Bhuji Devi, an avatar of Goddess Durga. Built with interlocking stones and no binding material, it uniquely features worship jointly performed by tribal Pahan priests and Brahmin priests. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
