Kuttumuck Siva Temple stands as a significant spiritual sanctuary in Thrissur, dedicated to Lord Shiva manifested as Kiratha Moorthi, the divine hunter. According to legend, Shiva assumed this form to test Arjuna's devotion, ultimately bestowing upon him the celestial weapon Pasupathastra. The temple's presiding idol is venerated as being more than three centuries old, though historical documentation remains absent. The temple's etymology traces to 'Kutti Muck,' and its history includes association with six traditional Brahmin households, all now defunct. A remarkable historical incident recounts how an attempted invasion by Tipu Sultan's forces was repelled by a swarm of bees, preserving the temple.
