About the temple

Keezhtali Mahadeva Temple is an ancient Shiva shrine in Kodungalloor, Thrissur, believed to have been established by sage Parashurama himself. It houses one of Kerala's largest Shivalingams and uniquely conducts the Saivagama Padi Pooja ritual on 36 sacred steps. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
