Located in Tali village of Talappilly Taluk in Thrissur district, Keezhtali Mahadeva Temple stands as a historically significant sanctuary dedicated to Lord Shiva. Originally part of a complex of 108 Shiva temples established during the Chera Kingdom era, the temple was largely destroyed over time but has been reconstructed in recent decades. The shrine is distinguished by housing one of Kerala's largest Shivalingams and remains the only temple conducting the traditional Saivagama Padi Pooja, a ritual performed on 36 steps inscribed with Shiva Sookthams and Parvathi Devi Paryayams. The temple complex includes subsidiary shrines dedicated to Bhagavathi (Parvathi), Narasimhamoorthy, Sasthavu (Ayyappan), and Ganapathi, with their consecration performed in May 2014. Daily worship follows traditional practices with three poojas conducted at dawn, noon, and evening, while Maha Shivaratri in the Malayalam month of Kumbha remains a major religious celebration attracting devotees from surrounding regions.
