About the temple

Augarnath Mandir, popularly known as Kali Paltan Mandir, is a historic Shiva temple in Meerut where Indian sepoys gathered before the 1857 Rebellion. The temple houses a self-manifested Shivalinga discovered underground in 1844. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
