Jatmai Mata Mandir

The temple operates daily from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Regular worship follows a structured rhythm: morning pooja at 5:00 AM, noon pooja at 12:00 PM, and evening pooja at 7:00 PM. The morning aarti takes place at 5:30 AM and the evening aarti at 6:30 PM. Darshan is available from 5:30 AM to 6:45 PM. Priests perform aarti and chant mantras with devotion, and archana (ritual worship) can be arranged according to individual requests. Visitors should note that timings may vary on festival occasions and special days, so confirmation before visiting is advisable. There is no entry fee for Indian nationals, foreign visitors, or for still and video photography.

Navratri Festivals

The temple observes Navratri celebrations twice yearly—during Chaitra (spring) and Kunwar (autumn) seasons. These periods draw significant numbers of devotees to the site. The goddess is worshipped with particular enthusiasm during these nine-day festivals, and the temple is elaborately decorated and lit. Annual fairs are organized at the temple during both Navratri observances, making these seasons the most vibrant times to experience the sacred space. The festivals represent the primary occasions when the temple's spiritual energy is most visibly expressed through community gathering and ritual intensity.

Best Times to Visit

The optimal period for visiting is October through March, when the climate is cooler and more comfortable for travel and temple exploration. The Navratri seasons—Chaitra and Kunwar—offer the added dimension of festival celebrations and heightened spiritual atmosphere, though visitors should expect larger crowds during these times. The waterfall adjacent to the temple flows most heavily during monsoon months, adding visual drama to the landscape, though the cooler months remain preferable for general visiting comfort.

Practical Information for Visitors

The temple is located in Gariaband district, approximately 80 to 85 kilometers from Raipur, the state capital. There is no entry fee. Modest dress is appropriate when visiting Hindu temples; loose, covered clothing that respects the sacred nature of the space is customary. Visitors should remove footwear before entering the inner sanctum. The site can be explored in one to two hours. Nearby attractions include a 150-foot statue of Lord Hanuman located just meters from the temple, and Ghatarani waterfall approximately 7.4 kilometers away. Sitanadi Wildlife Sanctuary lies about 60 kilometers distant for those with additional time to explore the region.
