About Hindu Temple and Cultural Center of Birmingham

Beyond daily rituals, the temple observes monthly programmes that deepen community engagement. Special Venkateshwara Abhishekam takes place on the first Saturday of each month, while Amritvani occurs on the first Sunday. Devotees honouring Shirdi Sai Baba gather on the first Thursday for special abhishekam, and those devoted to Sri Raghavendra Swamy do so on the third Thursday. Sunder Kand Path recitations occur on the third Tuesday, and Hari Kirtan gatherings take place on the third Sunday. These regular observances create rhythm and opportunity for both individual devotion and collective worship.

Facilities and Visitor Information

The temple is located at 200 N Chandalar Dr, Pelham, AL 35124. Visiting hours run from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM and 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM daily. The facility includes two auditoriums named after Rama and Lakshman, available for booking through the temple administration. Sunday prasadam lunch is served in the dining room at 12:00 PM, offering devotees an opportunity to receive blessed food. The temple is actively expanding its facilities; adjacent land has been acquired for development into multipurpose space including additional parking and community amenities. Yoga sessions, music classes, and religious education programmes are offered as part of the temple's cultural mission. Contact the temple at thtccb@gmail.com or (205) 621-1155 for specific inquiries or facility bookings.

Best Times to Visit

Morning hours between 9:00 and 11:30 AM offer the most comprehensive worship experience, with daily pujas and abhishekams in progress. Weekends provide extended programming and are particularly suitable for families; Sunday visits include the opportunity to partake in prasadam lunch following worship. Those seeking quieter darshan may prefer weekday mornings, while evening sessions from 5:30 to 8:30 PM accommodate working devotees. The temple's schedule ensures accessibility for both regular worshippers and occasional visitors throughout the week.

Looking Forward

The temple community is preparing for a significant milestone: the Second Maha Kumbhabhishekam in 2027, a grand reconsecration ceremony intended to renew the divine presence of the temple. This event represents a major spiritual undertaking and an invitation for devotees to participate in a historically significant occasion. The temple continues to develop youth and cultural programmes designed to engage younger generations in learning traditions, spiritual values, and cultural heritage. Volunteers are welcomed to contribute their time and skills in service to the temple community.
