About Dhabbawali Mata Temple

Located 35 kilometers northwest of Sanchore district in the village of Khasarvi, Dhabbawali Mata Temple stands as a significant Goddess Peeth on Rajasthan's sacred landscape. The temple houses an ancient idol of Goddess Dhabbawali Mata, whose name derives from a devoted devotee named Dhabbaji who performed worship at this site. According to local tradition, the goddess appeared to Dhabbaji in response to his sincere devotion, and subsequently the temple became known by the goddess's name. The shrine attracts pilgrims not only from Rajasthan and Gujarat but historically drew visitors from across the border in Pakistan before independence. A distinctive practice associated with the temple prohibits devotees from taking the blessed offerings outside the Khasarvi area, making it a unique spiritual custom.
