The temple maintains two distinct darshan periods: morning sessions run from 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while evening darshan operates from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM. On Fridays and during mandalam seasons, the morning opening is extended to 3:30 AM. Throughout these hours, multiple ritual observances occur at set times, each corresponding to different aspects of worship and different forms of the deity.

The daily sequence begins with Nirmalyam at 4:00 AM, followed by Ethruthu Pooja at 5:45 AM and Seeveli at 6:00 AM. The 2026 Makam Thozhal is scheduled for March 2nd, with the broader annual festival (Ulsavam) running from February 24th to March 5th that year.

Beyond this principal festival, the temple observes regular worship cycles and maintains daily ritual practices. Prasadam (blessed food offerings) is distributed to devotees following various pujas, with different items available at different times—some offerings are provided only in the morning, others only in the evening, and certain items exclusively after specific ceremonies.

The deity at Kizhukkavu is believed to possess the power to exorcise negative spiritual influences from devotees.
