Charan Mandir
About Charan Mandir
Located on the Aravalli hills en route to Nahargarh Fort, Charan Mandir is a spiritually significant pilgrimage site dedicated to Lord Krishna. According to legend, King Man Singh I of Amber received a divine dream in which Lord Krishna revealed the location of his sacred footprints (Charan Paduka) on the hillside. Following this revelation, the king discovered the spot and constructed a shrine to preserve the footprints, which later expanded into the temple visible today. The temple features a simple yet elegant marble structure with a sanctum housing the Charan Paduka. Beyond its religious importance, the site offers panoramic views of Jaipur city, Nahargarh Fort, Jaigarh Fort, and the Aravalli valleys, making it a popular destination for trekkers, cyclists, and photographers. The peaceful forest setting provides an ideal environment for meditation and spiritual reflection.
