Located in Annamanada within Thrissur district, Kerala, this revered Hindu temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva as its presiding deity. The temple's Shivling, standing nearly four feet tall, is interpreted as depicting Kirathamoorthy in a benevolent state while bestowing the Pashupatastra upon Arjuna. According to tradition, the temple originates from an incident where a woman's sickle struck a granite stone while cutting grass, causing it to bleed; subsequent astrological consultation revealed the stone's divine nature, prompting the temple's construction. Beyond Lord Shiva, the shrine also enshrines Goddess Parvathi and Lord Vishnu with equal reverence, alongside sub-deities including Ganesha, Sastha, Krishna, Narasimha, Durga, Bhadrakali, and serpent deities. The temple reflects traditional Kerala architectural style and serves as both a spiritual center and cultural hub. It is administered by the Cochin Devaswom Board and celebrates major festivals including Anayoottu and Chuttuvilakku Niramala.
