Sree Vasudevapuram Mahavishnu Temple
About Sree Vasudevapuram Mahavishnu Temple
Located approximately 9 kilometers west of Cochin International Airport in Kunnukara panchayath, this temple is renowned for its distinctive feature of offering simultaneous darshan of Lord Mahavishnu and Goddess Mahalakshmi during the eight days beginning with Akshaya Tritiya in the month of Vaisakha. According to temple lore, the great saint Vilwamangalam Swamikal visited the temple and witnessed Mahalakshmi engaged in service to Lord Vishnu due to neglect of temple rituals. The goddess subsequently promised to manifest in eight forms as Ashtalakshmi during these auspicious days to bless devotees with wealth, health, knowledge, success, and progeny. The sacred ritual of Tambula Samarpanam, involving offerings of betel leaves, arecanut, and monetary contributions, became the temple's most significant practice during these eight days.
