About Aapeshwar Mahadev temple
Located on the eastern bank of an outflow channel from Vitan Dam toward Sikwara, Aapeshwar Mahadev Temple is a Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to local tradition, in Vikram Samvat 1318 (approximately 1261 CE), a farmer's ploughshare suddenly stopped at this location. Upon excavation, villagers unearthed a natural, uncarved, life-sized murti of Shiva. A divine voice (Akashvani) was heard instructing its consecration as Aapeshwar, meaning "Lord who manifested Himself." The temple is governed by the Shri Apeshwar Mahadev Sewa Trust and serves as an important pilgrimage destination. Local legend suggests the village name Ramseen derives from Lord Rama's exile sojourn here, originally called Ramasayana.
