About the temple

Vedanarayana Perumal Temple in Thirunarayanapuram, Tiruchirapalli district, is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in a reclining posture with the four Vedas as his pillow, alongside Goddess Lakshmi as Vedanayaki. Built during the Medieval Chola and Vijayanagar periods, this Dravidian-style shrine hosts six daily rituals and prominent festivals including the chariot festival in March–April. The shrine draws devotees through the day for darshan and aarti, with the atmosphere reaching its peak during the evening rituals and on festival days when special pujas are performed.
