About Sri Angala Parameswari Amman Temple

Sri Angala Parameswari Amman Temple stands in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, as a significant shrine devoted to the goddess Angala Parameswari, a manifestation of Parvati. The temple features a distinctive seven-storied Rajagopuram measuring 65 feet in height with 50 Sudhai sculptures and seven Kalasams, constructed during the 6th century. The sanctum is accompanied by shrines for Sri Subramaniya Swami, Sri Sani Bagavan, Sri Bairavar, Sri Perumal, Suriya Bagavan, Vishnu, Durgai, Navagraham, and Dhatchinamurthy. According to temple lore, serpents who witnessed the destruction of their clan by Garudan Sivanai worshipped him on the north bank of the Vegvathi river and were granted divine forms. The temple provides facilities including drinking water, pooja item shops, and restrooms for devotees.
