The Shri Sanatan Hindu Mandir stands as a striking architectural landmark on Ealing Road in Wembley, completed in 2010 after 14 years of construction funded by the charity Shri Vallabh Nidhi UK. Built according to ancient Hindu design principles from the Shilpa Shastras, the temple spans 20,900 square feet on a 2.4-acre plot and rises 66 feet at its highest point. The structure features distinctive yellow Jaisalmer limestone exterior walls and pink Bansi Paharpur stone interiors, with 210 intricately hand-carved pillars depicting events from Hindu scriptures including the Mahabharata, Ramayana, and Shrimad Bhagvatam. The complex houses 41 deities distributed across 11 inner temples and 29 smaller sanctums, with three shikheras (spires) and two domes—the larger dome features 18 Radha murtis while the smaller houses 18 saint murtis. Notably, the entire structure employs no structural steel; all masonry is self-load-bearing with only copper, silver, and gold permitted in construction for spiritual reasons. The temple serves as a vital spiritual center for London's Hindu community, dedicated to preserving Sanatan Dharma traditions.
